Bengaluru: While there has been a significant decrease in the number of daily cases in India, there has been a huge increase in the death toll. According to a report released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning, the number of daily Covid cases in the country has dropped to 2.63 lakh in the last 24 hours. However, 4,329 people were infected, which is the highest death toll from the first case in the country.
For the second consecutive day, the number of Covid cases in India was reported to be less than three lakh. The total number of Covid cases in India is around 2.5 crores. About 2.78 lakh Covid patients have died since the epidemic began.
There were 2,63,533 positives in the country today. The number of people recovering from the disease is higher than the new cases. 4,22,436 were released. This has reduced the number of active cases to 33,53,765.
A total of 2,52,28,996 infections have been detected so far. Of these, 2,15,96,512 were cured. Another 2,78,719 people have been infected with the virus. To date, 18,44,53,149 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the country. Today’s positive rate in the country stands at 14.09%.
