Bengaluru News: The Narendra Modi government has pushed for the development of a ‘universal family ID’.
This family card is similar to the Aadhar card, which comes with a unique identification number for each citizen. The plan is intended to keep tabs on the beneficiaries of the central administration and the state’s major schemes by making each family an ‘identifying entity,’ a private media agency reported.
The National Information Center (NIC) and National Information Center Services Inc (NICSI), along with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), will study, develop and implement the project, government officials said. According to the Haryana Government’s Family ID Scheme, the Haryana Family ID Scheme launched in July 2019 is known as ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra’. The government said that its purpose is to create authentic, verified and reliable data of all families in Haryana. With the approval of family members, their primary details are being collected there.
The ID connects existing, independent schemes such as scholarships, subsidies, and pensions, thereby ensuring stability and reliability, and at the same time enabling the automatic selection of beneficiaries of various plans, subsidies, and pensions, ”states the state government website.
